BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT

Why choose a Brazilian Butt Lift?

A Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) offers several benefits, making it a popular choice for individuals seeking to enhance their buttocks. The procedure increases the size and shape of the buttocks and involves liposuction of other areas, such as the abdomen, hips, and thighs. This dual benefit of contouring the donor areas while augmenting the buttocks provides a more balanced and aesthetically pleasing silhouette. Additionally, the use of your own fat reduces the risk of allergic reactions or rejection, making it a safer alternative to implants.

Best-suited candidates

Ideal candidates are in good health, seeking buttock improvement, and have sufficient excess fat in other parts of their body to be used for the transfer. Candidates should not smoke or are willing to quit before and after the surgery to ensure proper healing. Very thin patients with minimal body fat may be candidates for gluteal augmentation with implants or might be advised to gain 10-15 pounds before surgery. Ideal candidates should also have realistic expectations about the outcomes of the procedure.

Brazilian Butt Lift surgery details

During the initial consultation, Dr. Rau will discuss your goals, evaluate your body, and determine if you are a suitable candidate. During the surgery, liposuction is used to remove excess fat from the "donor" areas such as the abdomen, flanks, back, or thighs. The fat is carefully harvested to ensure the highest quality of fat cells. The extracted fat is purified and processed to remove impurities, ensuring only healthy fat cells are used for the transfer. The purified fat is strategically injected into specific areas of the buttocks to achieve the desired shape and volume. Dr. Rau will then reinject this fat evenly into the buttocks to achieve natural-looking results.

Recovery

Recovery from a Brazilian Butt Lift requires careful adherence to post-operative instructions to ensure the best possible outcome. Patients can expect swelling and bruising in both the liposuction and injection areas. Pain and discomfort are managed with prescribed medications. Not all of the transferred fat survives in its new location, so in some cases, you may need more than one procedure to achieve the fullness you want. It is important to avoid sitting or laying on your buttocks for three weeks post-surgery. Special cushions or pillows can be used to minimize pressure on the buttocks when sitting is necessary. Exercise and return to normal activity can be anticipated after about two weeks. Swelling may last from a few weeks to a few months. Full recovery and the final results of the Brazilian Butt Lift can take up to six months, as the body needs time to heal and the fat cells to stabilize.
